I think that I don't want my children to always have the best opportunities given to them. I think I'd much rather teach them and have them learn to make the best of whatever opportunity they have.
It seems like a lot better preparation for life to me.
I get your point, but what if it's God giving them that "best opportunity". I could see myself setting up some great teaching opportunity and God be like, "Dude, these are MY children, I'm just loaning them to you, stop trying to manage EVERYTHING." My best thinking still gets me in "trouble", so it makes sense that it would carry down to my kiddos. God ALWAYS knows what's best, not me.
